Do you live in an apartment with NO storage space? Or maybe you live in a 3 bedroom home with no basement and still have clutter everywhere. It is so amazing how many things we collect in this journey called life. Where do we put them all?
The startup company Omni offers storage for all of those items you don’t readily need, and also offers a community to rent the things you have in storage. So, you get to store your items and rent them out to make some money on the side! What is better than that? (Hint: not much!)
Using the Omni app, I was able to easily and smoothly schedule a pick-up of all of our office items when we got a last minute crunch. Omni picks up your items from your home, photographs them, and stores them at one of their sites. You don’t even have to leave your house, or lift a finger to do this! Say goodbye to manual labor and the endless cost of moving boxes.
You can also browse thousands of items already available on Omni’s site to rent. There are so many items to choose from: bikes, air mattresses, karaoke machines, kayaks, and more!
Those items you stored – you can rent them out to others in the Omni community in order to earn credit to spend on Omni yourself, or cash out! Basically, a side business if you wanted it to be!

Omni offers unlimited rental earnings and low monthly costs. Here is a basic list of fees:
- Standard item (something that will fit in a carry-on bag: clothing, shoes, small appliances, etc.) will cost you .50 per month
- Large item (such as a bike, large appliance, chair, etc.) will cost you $3.00 per month
- Closed container (items you want to stay in a box and not be itemized such as files) will cost you $7.50 per month
If you are a first-time renter, your first delivery is free with a code (see live chat representative for details)! Omni picks up and delivers daily from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm. While they only pick up and deliver in San Francisco and select parts of the Bay Area, Omni reports that expansions to their service area are coming very soon!
I really cannot say enough good things about these guys. Every experience with them has been a delight. Their customer service is great (when some of our items were bigger than they normally allow, a manager worked with us to arrange a special pick up at a very reasonable price (all their prices are very reasonable!!)), the pick up and delivery men are professional, on time, and friendly, and their website is easy to use.
They are also very flexible and accommodating (when something we were having dropped off did not work for us, they happily took it back. They also allowed us to have Amazon pick up heavy packages for a return straight from their warehouse instead of dragging it back to our office). Use Omni. They’re great. -Nimrit S. on Yelp!
